People using solder iron for extended periods often experience muscle fatigue in their hands. To help combat that issue, Greg Spencer developed SolderGO to provide a more comfortable experience for those tackling lengthy solder projects.

SolderGO features an OLED screen, a simplistic user interface, and compact ergonomics with a portable full-size tip that minimizes the workbench footprint. With joystick integration, users can adjust the iron tip’s temperature (up to (840°F), which is shown on the display. Overall, the iron requires 72W of power for a rapid heat-up time, thermal recovery, and temperature stability. Left or right-handed users won’t need to worry about the screen’s placement since it can be flipped.

Additionally, the DC-powered iron can be connected to various batteries or a mains power supply for the bench. It detects how many battery cells are connected and alerts the user if it reaches 20% capacity. As a bonus, it shuts off automatically after hitting 5% battery capacity. There are also sleep/wake-up modes, ensuring the tip lasts longer while maintaining efficiency.

SolderGO is compatible with interchangeable tips, which means they can perform various soldering tasks from standard size to micro components. Compared to conventional irons, the SolderGO comfortably fits between the index finger, thumb, and middle finger to prevent muscle fatigue.
