Here we are making a proximity sensing-based “Touchless Doorbell” using infrared transceiver pair and some locally available components. It can detect the presence of a person’s hand, and then, if the person is detected, the doorbell is automatically turned ON. Touchless sensing is witnessing faster growth due to the COVID-19 outbreak and will continue to do so. As, COVID-19 and other viruses can spread through contact with shared surfaces, therefore this solution can go a long way in protecting human lives.
The components used in this project can be locally procured. The System can be easily built and installed in place of the traditional doorbell switch.
The simulation can be seen in the video provided. The IR receiver is replaced with a switch for simulation purposes. As we can see when the switch is closed the buzzer will be ON. Then as in the schematic, the circuit is tested. Now we need to connect the NO and COM terminal of the relay to the buzzer switch.
The circuit can also be easily integrated into a PCB.
