The Coronavirus spreads through touch. I see infected people touching surfaces, and then those not infected touching those same surfaces.
These are surfaces that have some function, for example push buttons and switches. These are the most frequently used surfaces anywhere, and the most common.
What I plan to do is, have proximity controlled buttons, that will have an actuation servo motor, which will press the desired button by just pointing to it, rather than touching it. This will prevent people from touching those surfaces, and so, will curb the spread of the virus.
While such devices do exist, they have to be fitted inside the system / the current system has to be replaced, which might not be an option for most people in crucial times like these.
My mechanism will be retrofitted on the existing button / switch system, so will be super easy to install, and will not require any coding/wiring from the user side, so will be a very trouble free and a practical solution to implement, to limit the spread of this virus.
I currently am out of electronic supplies, so I dont have a working solution yet, but as described, it will be really easy to implement and code out.
