Although there are thousands of stand-alone smart kitchen products available in the market, there is indeed scarcity and in turn a great necessity for control IoT node/platform to seamlessly integrate all of these stand-alone devices in an ubiquitous-compliance and scalable architecture.
This huge gap in the IoT infrastructure is our primary motivation behind this application at its core. The key idea is to design and implement a control node in an everyday kitchen scenario, that would be context-aware about the presence of device-entities and the user-entities. Thus in turn, it could act as a control mechanism to overlook and streamline these interactions to aid next-generation Ubiquitous applications such as IoT based home systems.
Our platform "Ubiquitous Digi Stewardess" incorporates a robust MQTT based Publisher/subscriber protocol to seamlessly detect the presence of IoT devices. This stewardess also controls the interaction from various user-entity groups to the in-house designed and segregated sensor modules which has customizable open interfaces to integrate many of existing readily available third-party IoT devices such as Eggminder, Neo, Amazon dash etc. More details about the project can be found in the attachment section.
