We're at SuperCon8!!
Check out this year's SuperCon schedule and program here, super excited for the talks and workshops. We will be doing live stream via Instagram improvised, so stay tuned or watch our reels over the weekends to see the happenings at this beloved hacker conference.
Meanwhile, let's check out this year's Badge Hack!!
Here is the front of the badge - 6 SAO ports, 3 buttons.
For those who are not familiar, Simple Add-ons (SAOs) is a standard that enables anyone to make a PCB that can be attached to and powered by a SAO Capable device.
Back of the badge - 2x AA batteries for power + Raspberry Pi Pico W
These are some cool SAOs we collected on Day 1 from the community:
POV Display SAOThe is an accelerometer-based hand-wave POV display by Michael Yim. With front and back LEDs, this SAO displays a 5 pixel x 12 char message.
From TinyTapeout.com
From davedarko, and inspired by a cybertruck simple add-on, this Han Solo SAO uses exposed HASL for art and the silkscreen for a 3D effect.
duckGLOW is an SAO with a glowing rubber duck by Adrain Struder, lit up by an RGB or UV LED, controllable over I2C, or like an addressable LED following the WS2812 'standard'.
Day 2 update!!
