Finally a smart compression shirt designed for professional athletes or the athlete in you. We plan on designing the sports shirt with cutting edge technology, while still maintaining a fashionable sport look.
Have you ever wanted to know if you are engaging the right muscles during your workout, even during the last few reps of an exhausting set?
OR
Ever wondered if you are training at the right intensity to achieve your goals?
Maybe you are at a stand-still in your progress (plateau). Well, it is time to train smarter not harder. The fitness, and overall athletic performance, industry is quickly moving towards science and technology versus the old regimes that hard work and longer hours in the gym is the only way to get results.
For instance, recent discoveries have proven that doing high intensity interval training for 8-12 minutes can improve a runners VO2 max better than going for long lower intensity runs. This was only discovered by constantly monitoring athletes and being able to analyze and understand the results. However, the average person cannot obtain this data, let alone understand it. Leaving them to resort to very basic monitoring during a workout such as muscle soreness and rated perception of exertion. This tremendously inefficient method leads any level of athlete into a plateau, unable to achieve their goals and potentially give up on their progress all together. This is where our smart shirt will come in.
The smart shirt will give the user access to every aspect of their workout. Data from the shirt’s on-board SensorTile microcontroller will be sent to their phone via Bluetooth 4.0 in real time. As explained before, the average person does not understand how to absorb this information. This is why the shirt’s companion phone app will process the data and interface the information in a format the user can comprehend. During an exercise the user will feel as if they have a team of personal trainers supporting them as they get voice feedback on their rep tempo (speed of rep), muscle activation, heart rate, breathing rate, and so much more! After an exercise the companion app will tell the user if they should increase intensity or if it is time to cut back intensity.
