Chemical/HNS or oil spill accidents are significant catastrophes with long-term impacts. They have disastrous consequences for the environment as well as on human society. Global oil & gas and maritime industries today face the great challenge of sustainability, growing their operations while developing safer detection, mitigation and prevention strategies for such disasters.
OSDaR is proposed as an easy-to-deploy AIoT network solution that aids in the quick detection of oil spills, both at the surface and underwater, so that response strategies can be deployed at the earliest. It also aims to develop a predictive model with time to identify oil spill possibilities before they occur, making disaster response more proactive than reactive.
