This guide is intended for schools that have purchased a subscription of Arduino Create Chrome App for Education at this link.
MANUAL INSTALLATIONAfter completing the subscription purchase:
- Have your members create an Arduino ID with the same email that you have entered in the subscription flow.
- Install the Arduino Create Chrome app for Education for each users
If you are unable to the install the app, contact the IT manager of your school and ask them to follow the steps of the guide below (Bulk Installation).
BULK INSTALLATION ON MULTIPLE CHROME OS DEVICESThis section is intended for IT managers of schools who wish to deploy the "Arduino Create for Education" Chrome OS application to a fleet of Chrome OS devices that their department manages. You must have have access to the Google Admin console for your school.
License subscriptions for students and teachers can be purchased here.
Guide1) Sign in to the Google Admin console: https://admin.google.com/
2) Click “Device management”:
3) Click the “Chrome management” link on the left, under the "Device Settings" heading:
4) Scroll down and click “App management”:
5) Type “elmgohdonjdampbcgefphnlchgocpaij” into the search box on the left, then press the search button:
6) “Arduino Create for Education” will appear in the list (first entry), click the row to configure it
**NOTE**: The “Arduino Create for Education” app is not publicly listed on the Chrome Web Store, and will only work for educational institutions that have purchased a Arduino Create Education subscription plan.
7) Click “User settings”:
8) Select the desired Organization from the “Orgs” section on the left hand side, “Global” will set the settings globally.
9) If “Allow Installation” is not enabled, click the toggle switch to allow installation, and then press “Save”:
10) To force install “Arduino Create for Education” when a user logs in, toggle the “Force Installation” switch, and then press “Save”:
11) (Optional) To pin “Arduino Create for Education” to the taskbar when a user logs in, toggle the “Pin to taskbar” switch, and then press “Save”:
12) (Optional) To display “Arduino Create for Education” in your Orgs Chrome Web Store collection, toggle the “Add to Chrome Web Store collection” switch, and then press “Save”:
13) The Arduino Create for Education Chrome app will deployed on the Chrome OS devices within a few minutes or the next time the user logs into their Chrome OS device.
