Museduino is an Electronics Exhibit Development Kit.
This kit addresses the deployment of a microcontroller-based system with sensors and actuators that is robust enough for a public installation. We use open source hardware and software with locally available, inexpensive components, whenever possible.
The Museduino kit consists of the main board, an Arduino Uno compatible shield that distributes power and IO via CAT5/RJ45 cable to a set of remote modules called satellite boards. CAT5/RJ45 cable length between the main board and satellites can be as long or short as needed.
Each satellite board is intended for separate functions in mind. Smorgsboard is used for general IO (leds, buttons, sensors) and External Power board is meant for circuits requiring external power supply up to 12v (motors, neopixels).
The goal: scalabilty, extensibility and the use of ubiquitous hardware.
Museduino is compatible with most microcontrollers that use the Arduino Uno footprint.
