Having been playing with the ESP8266-01, I found I needed a simple 3V3 breadboard power supply. There are a number of these available online but having just about all the bits I needed it seems sensible to do a bit of DIY. Essentially the end result connects directly onto the breadboard power rails and is power from a micro USB connection.
The build is quite simple, to get the connections to the stripboard correct I would have a trial fir before soldering as the breadboards sizes do very somewhat.
Important only solder 2 diagonal pins (that will connect to breadboard). These need to correspond to the correct power rails on the breakout board, again this is a lot easier to work out if you do a trial fit first. Once you have soldered the 2 pins using a pair of small pliers remove the other 2 pins. likewise remove the 3 inner pins on the micro USB connector - leaving just 2 power connections.
