Being a college student, I'm away from home a lot, and as a result I don't have a lot of opportunity to play my instruments for my family. So, I decided a good way to address this would be to create a cute speaker that I could gift my family, play music and record it, then put the mp3 files in a USB for them to listen back to again and again while I'm away at college.
All of the printed components were designed on Autodesk Fusion and printed using a 3D printer. The connection of the board is relatively simple. I used an mp3 board and soldered some jumper wires on the ends of the metal speaker to lengthen the cables then attached it to the output of the board. The whole thing is powered by a 3 AA battery pack which has a switch soldered to the power end. The battery pack is then soldered to the + and - ports of the mp3 board.
I designed the head and arms to be able to rotate and they are posable. I also pieced the two parts of the speaker body together using screws that fit into the four holes.
