Sensory Cardboard

We decided to take the challenge apart and make individual objects that evoke the feelings, and then put it all back together to create one scene. 

First, we began with the cactus. Cara cut out the cactus shape and Cara then painted the pieces and added the black spikes.

Then I created the boing by cutting a spiral out of a circular piece of cardboard/

Next, I began on the splat. This piece was a literal splat, recreated topographically. 

Then, Amanda started working on the cardboard ice cubes to represent cold. She wetted cardboard until it became malleable and then molded it into squares which were then kept in the freezer until our crit date. 

Next, Amanda and Cara began to spray paint all the elements of our creation as well as a black circular piece of cardboard to be used as the base of our mobile.

we used color corresponding electrical wire to hang our elements to create the final, spooky, midnight sun, alien attack scene.
