In the video I will show you more in depth how to make each and every life hack. Watch it and comment if you liked it or not!
Water HeaterThe first life hack is the water heater, and it works by current flowing through a coil, usually nichrome or kanthal. A hot wire works by applying current to a metal wire. Due to the wire having electrical resistance, which means that they resist the motion of electrons, the electrons bump into atoms on the outside of the wire, and some of their kinetic energy is given to the atoms as thermal energy. This thermal energy causes the wire to heat up.
In this specific project I used a 3S (12V) lithium polymer battery and it was able to boil a cup of water in less than a minute! A switch was installed to easily turn the device on and off.
Heating GlovesThe second life hack is the heating gloves. With the same principal as the water heater, wire is heated using a 9V alkaline battery. I inserted wire inside of the gloves and installed a switch. Using a thermal camera I was able to see the performance, and it was indeed quite satisfying!
The third life hack is the woodburning pen. It's a great tool and can be used for a lot of projects where permanent marking is necessary. By using a 9V battery and some kanthal wire shaped as a "V," the tip reaches very high temperature. High enough to burn wood, and the slim design makes it very easy to work with.
