Water pollutants can cause health problems like cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid and polio. People with low incomes are more likely to live in polluted areas and have unsafe drinking water. People in rural areas have less number of hospitals and medical facilities. There are a lot of pregnancy complication for women and infants due to water pollution problem like miscarriage, pre-eclampsia, preterm birth, low birth weight, congenital defects, infertility, risk of later non-communicable diseases in adulthood (NCDs).
In order to solve both environmental and Health issues. We will be using a device which can be handheld and can be charged. With Multiple sensors connected to the device we can detect Turbidity, TDS, ORP, PH and temperature of the water source. With edge machine learning the device will process the data from our device and will predict the purity of the water source. This data will be stored in a mobile app and would be send to the authorities for further examination. This decease may be due to lack of proper water supply, Increasing Industrial pollution. This problems can be classified and proper policies can be implemented to mitigate the environmental and health problems. With sensors in Nordic Thingy and with additional sensors to measure accurate Air quality we can detect the pollution around the people. The sensors like Tds, PH, Temprature, ORP sensors will send the data for processing. There are functionalities to record the water source data.We will be using Edge impulse to train a machine learning model to detect the purity of the water source. Thus the condition of water source would be send to a mobile app through BLE. Then the mobile app stores the data and will mark it in the map which will help people to take care of the water source
In order to use I2C, you need to set up a device tree in your application. This can be done by following the instructions in the package "thingy53_nrf5340_common.dts at <ncs-installation>\zephyr\boards\arm\thingy53_nrf5340. You can also use the i2c1 node to guide you through the process of setting up your Qwiic display.
The Qwiic compatible expansion board pin numbers can be found in the Infocenter. The numbers can be assigned depending on the version of the nRF Connect SDK used.
Future Works- Will work on a case which shapes like a bottle
- Will work on two mode where Mode 1 would be air quality sensor, Mode 2 would be water quality sensor, and Mode 3 can be used as a light
- App will be provided
