I needed a device that would control the pump or valve depending on the water level. In stores I found similar devices but with a price higher than 100 dolars.
The device can operate in two modes. Mode set by the jumper on Q or Qn.
In Q mode, the relay turns on when the level rises above the top sensor and turns off when it drops below the bottom sensor.
In Qn mode, the relay turns on when the level drops below the lower sensor and turns off when it rises above the upper sensor.
You can use this device to control the pump to pump water to or from tank, or to control the valve on tank.
The relay can switch maximum 10A at 230V.
On the top of the board are output pins for a future project. Next is the jumper to set the mode.
As level sensors I use this ones I bought on eBay.
Wiring diagram of sensors to the board.
There is an LED on the board that indicates the status of the relay. Illuminates when the relay is closed.
PCB design. There are cutouts on the PCB to separate the mains voltage lines from the low voltage lines. It's for safety reasons.
In the next project I will be doing an expansion board for this project with ESP8266 and AC adapter. Stay tuned.
