This device is based around LTR390V ambient light sensor and QuickFeather as main data processing unit. ESP12 is used for communication with other devices. Solar panel visible on the front side of the device is used to charge an internal battery from an old iPhone.
I designed a sensor shield PCB to hold the sensor and ESP12 microcontroller. PCB was manufactured in a company called NextPCB and hand assembled at home. Components were ordered from LCSC.
Enclosure was designed in open source software FreeCad and 3D printed on Ender3 Pro printer. I used PETG plastic to print the case.
Electronics are mounted on the back side of the case and will be enclosed with another 3D printed part, this part will also hold the Li-Ion battery,
