At this pandemic time, many old age homes are suffering with insufficient care givers, risk of infections due to contacts with care givers and emergency management. Technology like IoT and machine learning can solve some of the problems faced in old age homes.
This solution aims to build elderly care system using non-intrusive sensors like motion sensor, touch sensors(open/closed), temperature sensor , air quality sensor etc. Data from these heterogenous sensor sources is used to infer for
1. Presence detection (present in room or not)
2. Activity detection (Sleeping, resting, dining, reading, washroom)
3. Behaviour mining (personalised behaviours like sleep duration)
4. Anomaly detection (More time in toilet, reduce sleeping)
5. Room comfort detection (temperature , humidity, ventilation)
Inferred data will be used for different use cases like sleep quality monitoring , medication reminders , anomaly alerts and room environment alert.
Alexa voice based emergency support system will be built to interact with care givers. Alexa skill will use inferred data to provide personalised care giving experience,
This system helps to manage the old age care with minimum resources without compromise the comport. Camera sensor is not used to honour the privacy of the inmates.
