This project presents an NTC thermistor model with temperature driven by a voltage source. The model originally used for LTspice or Pspice has been modified after importation in the software TI Tina, so that it works as plug and play. The simulation which can directly opened in TINA, presents a voltage divider which can be used to operate a temperature sensing application.
In the attachment section (schematics), you will a small mute video showing how the simulation can be used and eventually modified.
Hereunder the screen capture of the simulation:
A Vishay NTC thermistor is place in series with a fixed resitor. The Ti pin of the NTC is commected to a RC circuit (modeling the response time of the thermistor) and to a voltage source (the ambient temperature of 85V or 85°C )
The result of the simulation is as follows. The thermistor temperature rises exponentially from the initial temperature 25°C up to 85°C (lower curve).
The voltage is decreasing accordingly (upper curve)
The user is now enabled to use this thermistor voltage to drive his own circuit, which will provide eventually for a heat source which will be used to feedback for the NTC temperature.
For information, the same simulation is presented in other electronic simulation software like Altium, Multisim, Simetrix and LTspice (see other project of the author).
The Resistance temperature characteristics of the NTC thermistor are the ones of NTCS0805E3472_MT form Vishay. Other components can be modelled by modifying the adequate coefficients : the whole Vishay NTC library is available in the "enter macro" tab.
