Underwater exploration, the recognition of our ecosystem, the diversity of fauna and flora found in the sea is the great interest for the scientists in all areas (Oceanography, Marian Biology, Geology, Archeology, among others). However, the tools to develop this type of exploration are very expensive. Therefore, it is time to explore low-cost solutions that can be used by researches, as well as for those who practice this type of activity in a recreational way.
My idea is to develop an underwater robot to monitor, assist and prevent risks that could face divers when they are doing underwater exploration.In this development, the robot will have the ability to follow a group of divers keeping a prudent distance, making a map of the places explored (using sonar and combining with the use of the camera), and draw the trajectories followed by the divers. For this, the hardware used in Donkey Car will be transformed in a new Underwater Dockey.
