About
Notification Flow
This app sets a recurring alarm that starts up when the phone even boots! Every time the alarm is triggeered, the phone checks for new earthquakes in the background and if one is found, the watch will be notified.
Notifications on the watch show up as any other Android Wear notification. The background color of the notification is set to adjust with your distance to the earthquake! The redder the color, the closer. The greener, the farther. If you swipe left, you have the option of opening it up on the phone.
On the phone, you will see a map with info overlayed on top. If you shake the watch, both the phone and the watch will vibrate in feedback. This will also consult the Instagram API to bring you recent images from that location. Every time you view an image, the watch will display the user who took the photo and the specific location they were at.
To exit the earthquake detail view, you simply swipe away the watch view! Exiting out of the app from the phone will also make the watch exit its app too!
Previous Earthquakes
When you open the app from the phone, you will get a list of past earthquakes with their place, date, and magnitude. You will notice that there are varying sized bars on the right side of each earthquake. The length of these bars indicate how far away you were from the earthquake when you were notified of it! And of course, tapping on an earthquake will take you back to the map detail view and trigger the watch to open up its corresponding view.
