explanations
pricklyI wanted to play around with making cones out of paper. And the cones came out kind of sharp. Simple as that.
mushy<
>At first I tried to make the carboard itself mushy by rolling it up and crumpling it under heavy textbooks. When that didn't work, I brainstormed other meanings of "mushy" and thought of mushy, lovey-dovey sentiment. I went on Pinterest and searched for the mushiest quotes I could find. Then I needed to keep the object colorful, as per the instructions, so I wrote out the quotes in a rainbow of color. Behold, the scroll of sentiment!
hot<
>In the beginning, I wanted to burn the cardboard on the stove, but then I realized I might end up burning down the kitchen. I didn't have any matches, so I decided to play on the idea of hot. I remembered Hot Wheels, the mini toy cars that kids play with, and looked up images online. The flame for the logo is very memorable (if you ever played with Hot Wheels), so I drew up the car and left the actual words "Hot Wheels" off. I also used more cardboard to make the car stand, and made the wheels separately out of paper.
moistI thought about how hot glue can look like dew drops on fake flowers when done correctly, and decided to use the technique to make a moist-looking object. I started out with a cardboard cube, and when I couldn't help cutting out eyes and a tongue, the cube turned into a little monster with two fangs and a very moist tongue dripping with saliva.
