Besides setting up the cables in their respective positions I didn't run into any significant trouble.
specially since the setup was the same for all 3 exercises.
Going through the process helped me better understand exactly how the code works.

Automaton
I ran into a lot of problems while trying to built my automaton.
My original idea was quite simple. There was going to be a rocket going up an down, a circle representing earth spinning, and a head tilting it's head up to see as the rocket as it ascended up the atmosphere.
My biggest complication was that I didn't make nearly enough sketches before printing, and that I only printed my automaton once. I know now that getting it right the first time is extremely unlikely especially given how little sketching I did.
This resulted in me having to cut lots of little pieces of wood and use an obscene amount of hot glue. A process with was incredibly time consuming, ultimately inaccurate, but most of all I could've just as easily reprinted my model and added the parts I'd failed to account for. I guess I'm still getting use to the rapid prototyping mentality. 15 minutes into building the automata I'd already though of tons of things I could've done different and could've maybe worked better.
In the end though I'm unsatisfied with how the automaton looks now. I like my original idea and I'm still pleased that I got my current design to move.
