One of the under-appreciated aspects of working in a good office is the fact that many things are controlled to ensure that you can be as safe and productive as possible. Multiple articles and studies show that four key factors (temperature, noise levels, light intensity and air quality) can affect one's comfort and productivity at work. Unfortunately, our home office spaces may not be as controlled (nor as easy to control) - and yet many of us have had to work from home for quite some time now.
The Healthy Home Office project attempts to create a simple IoT device capable of measuring those factors that affect one's ability to work comfortably from home. The device not only displays these measures, but also process them in the background to provide recommendations for end users. See below for a quick video demo of the basic functionality that we were able to achieve before the end of this hackathon.
Additional information (about the specific functionality and all the magic happening behind the scenes on AWS) can be found in the code repository's README.md
