This wearable PCB badge was designed as a fun way to combine basic electronics with a bit of personal style. I based the design on the Hackster logo and built a simple 555 timer LED flasher circuit at its core.
The 555 timer is wired in astable mode, which means it continuously switches the LED on and off without any external trigger. To give users control over the blinking speed, I added a potentiometer that adjusts the timing cycle - a great way to demonstrate how resistance affects timing in a real circuit.
For the wearable aspect, I added a small loop on the top right corner of the PCB. This makes it easy to attach to a necklace chain, earring hook, or keyring. You can build it up as a piece of jewelry, a backpack charm, or even just a flashy desk toy!
This project is perfect if you're looking for a quick soldering project and to play with a simple timer circuit - and you’ll have a fun, functional accessory to show off when you're done.
