Our friend AmiedoubleD, Cosplayer and Software Engineer, created her own LEGO Interactive Wall using the tools from our Touch Board Pro Kit. When you touch various part of the wall, it plays the corresponding sound!
For the team at Bare Conductive, LEGO defined our youthful years, so we were excited to see what she created! Learn how to make your own wall, just like Amie, in the tutorial below.
Materials: To begin you will need:
Touch Board Pro Kit
LEGO Classic Baseplate
LEGO Bricks or Flexo Bricks with flexible tendons
Liquid Nails (a caulking gun with the liquid nails makes it easier)
Plywood sheets
Screws and Wood anchors
Step 1:
Amie used 92 x Blue LEGO Baseplates that measure 32×32 studs or 10″ square.
You can make the wall any size you want.
You don’t have to drill sheets of plywood into your wall, you could just use the Liquid Nails to apply the LEGO Baseplates to your wall. Amie chose to use plywood and a few screws so if she ever sold her house one day, she wouldn’t have to sheetrock the walls when trying to remove the LEGO baseplates.
Amie let the wall completely dry for 24 hours before she started to add brick designs and electronics.

Step 2:
Next step is to change the audio tracks on the Touch Board to the ones you want. If you haven’t changed the MP3 tracks on the Touch Board before, have a look at the tutorial on how to change the tracks on the MicroSD card.

Step 3: Apply Electric Paint to Electrodes and Wall
Use the Electric Paint to connect the Touch Board sensors to the LEGO parts. It takes 15-30 mintues to dry. You can see the paint starts to have a ‘matte’ finish look when dry.

Step 4: Touch the LEGO parts
When the paint has dried, touch the LEGO parts! It should now play the corresponding sounds!
