Android Project, the First: You Animal!
Introduction:
"You Animal!" is a simple app that supports animal-to-animal age conversion. For example, users can see how old they would be in "dog years" or "kangaroo years" and experiment with different age conversions.
Features:
There are some key features this app has in order to provide a pleasant and interactive experience.
- Supports age conversions for 27 different animals, including humans
- A text field for users to enter a custom age, 5 numbers max
- Drop-down menus for users to select the animals they want
- Real-time age conversions (e.g. the entered age is automatically converted in the second text field)
- Simple iconography to aesthetically enhance user on-boarding and instructions
- Landscape and portrait orientations
Walk-through:
A user can use this app by first entering an age in the blue-bordered text field. Then, the user can select what animals he or she wants to include in the age conversion. The converted age automatically shows up in the black-bordered text field as the user enters or deletes characters in the input text field. There are example images of this interaction below in landscape and portrait orientations of "You Animal!" In these images, the user wants to see how old a 20 year-old kangaroo would be in "chicken years" and finds out that the answer is 12 "chicken years."
