Long Video High Compression

This project lets you take videos longer than 25 minutes. The normal RICOH app artificially blocks you from taking longer videos. The normal app also limits you to H.264 compression, which results in a larger file size than modern High Efficiency Compression.

This plug-in uses High Efficiency Compression, you can reduce the bitrate to 32Mbps or lower have the quality should be comparable to 56Mbps with H.264, which is the default RICOH THETA V compression and bitrate.

To view the video on Windows 10 Movies and TV Player, you must add High Efficiency Compression support to the player. Both Premiere Pro and CyberLink PowerDirector 17 can handle High Efficiency Compression.

Please test the plug-in with shorter videos first to verify that you have a functional file transfer and playback process. Once you have a good workflow, you can record videos up to 19GB in size if you delete all other media from the THETA V prior to starting your recording session. You may need to power the THETA with an external power supply such as a portable battery pack and USB cable.
