So there I was, sitting in orbit. I'm about to dock with my customers space station when I hit the wrong key, firing the thrusters and colliding. Both vessels go spinning off into the void leaving a cloud of previously very important bits behind.
Luckily, I had just quicksaved.
All right, so this work of near-fiction is actually based in Kerbal Space Program. However, the controls that would make this easier exist. They allow for precise control in multiple axis. These are needed to control robotic arms, CAD software or your favourite space simulator
So my project is to create a 6DoF controller that is intuitive, using Capsense for gesture recognition to allow for easier control.
The globe portion will handle rotation as well as vertical translation/movement (Z axis) with the right arrow pad handling the simple XY translation.
All the controls will be mapped to keyboard keys using the BLE controller.
*Update for contest end*
Sadly, due to the failure of my Windows PC, this project didn't get completed to where I wanted. I look forward to finishing this up anyways since this is a project I've wanted to build for some time.
Thanks Hackster and Infineon for the great contest!
