Android Things Voice HAT Without a Voice HAT

Don't own a Voice HAT yet? No problem! You can start testing the 'Cardboard' version of Google Home without it too.

Things used in this project

with a USB microphone and a speaker connected to the audio jack (or you play sound over HDMI)

LED (generic)

Resistor 475 ohm

or anything in that vicinity

3.1-preview for RPi3

Connect 5V (e.g. pin 2) through the switch to GPIO23, pressing the switch will activate the speech recognition.

Connect the LED with the resistor to GPIO24 (this will make it flash when you press the switch and when the Google Assistant is responding)

Please make sure that the RPi3 is properly connected to the internet.
