Visualize is more than just a project; it’s a reflection of my passion for using technology to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The inspiration came from witnessing the daily struggles that visually impaired individuals face—simple things like reading a sign, crossing a busy street, or even knowing who is nearby can become daunting challenges. I wanted to create something that could empower them, something that could restore a sense of independence and confidence.
Through Visualize, I’ve channeled this motivation into developing a solution that leverages augmented reality (AR) to bridge the gap between these challenges and the freedom to navigate the world with ease. The project uses normal sun glasses with a seed studio esp32 camera module that act as an extra set of eyes, providing real-time assistance through advanced AI. These glasses can recognize obstacles, read text aloud, and describe the user’s surroundings in detail, all through simple audio feedback. My goal with Visualize is to create a tool that not only makes life easier for visually impaired individuals but also helps them reclaim a sense of autonomy and connection with the world around them.
It acts as a personal assistant with NLP and be a real friend who can guide.
It works by taking pictures of the users surroundings every few seconds and processing the image to be able to answer any questions and guide the user.
This project is driven by the belief that technology can be a powerful force for good, and that with the right tools, we can help everyone experience the world fully, regardless of their challenges. Visualize is my way of contributing to that vision, and it represents my commitment to making the world a more inclusive place for all.
The idea for this project was derived from OpenGlass, an opensource project developed by MIT.
