I wanted a frame that displayed whatever type of art I asked it to. Thanks to OpenAI's DALL-E 2, Picovoice and Raspberry Pi, I was able to make my own.
Now I can say simply say something like “Art Frame, a bowl of jellybeans, ” and in a matter of seconds an AI generated image of my request ‘magically’ appears on the framed e-ink display.
The DALL-E 2 Voice-Controlled Artificial Intelligence Art Frame includes a 3D printed frame that houses a 7-color e-ink display and a Raspberry Pi 4. The RPi runs a Python program that uses Picovoice Porcupine to detect a wake word; Picovoice Cobra voice activity detection to determine when the user begins and finishes speaking their image request; Picovoice Leopard to convert the spoken request into text; and OpenAI’s DALL-E 2 to convert the request to an image that is then displayed on a Pimoroni Inky Impression e-ink display.
If you like it, you can build your own. A complete Parts List, Python Code, 3D Printable Parts and Detailed Instructions are located on my GitHub site specified below.
