I ran into a lot of roadblocks with this project. I came into the Invention lab about two weeks ago to put together a low fidelity prototype before I left for Grace Hopper using cardboard and stripped wires as connectors.
Unfortunately, when I came back I had think outside the box to put together a drawing machine that worked using the limited resources I had access to.
I'm not proud of the finished project. There's so much I wanted to do but didn't get the chance to implement. If I could do this project over again, I'd make the pivots adjustable, use nuts and bolts to keep everything together, and attach a motor so the machine was autonomous.
But it does work! and sometimes you can create pretty neat patterns if you keep turning the gears :)
