Project Title: Smart Double Scissors Lifting Platform
Objectives:
1. To enable householders access regions that are out of reach without having to move ladders and stools about the house
2. To enable householders to be safely elevated in their duties, by having a gadget that is customised for balance during elevation
3. To enable householders to be easily elevated to any height without having to stack stools together, or build taller ladders
Desciption:
Have you ever wanted to get something from a shelf that was just too high, yet there was no stool or ladder in sight? Have you fallen from a stool due to its instability? Have you ever had to risk your life by climbing up a ricketty ladder? Then consider this:
The Smart Double Scissors Lifting Platform is an autonomous platform whose objective is to elevate people to desired heights - safely. It is smart, in that it comes to you right where you need it and also gets out the way when it is not required.
It has various components that enable it to function:
1. The navigation mechanism
This enables the platform to move about the house autonomously upto the position in which it is desired to be.
2. The lifting mechanism
The double scissors, hydraulic lift is employed to enable the platform to be raised to desired heights, while ensuring stability of the person standing on it.
3. The safety mechanism
This comprises of all the technology employed to ensure the safety of the person on the platform as well as that of other people who come into contact with the platform.
In order to implement each of the described mechanisms, a powerful microcontroller is required that is able to handle a wide range of inputs and that has powerful processing power: a controller such as the Arduino 101!
