I had an Arduino Leonardo, a 2.8" display and a GPS module as spare parts, a long car trip was planned so the idea of a GPS telemetric data generator is born. The hardware is pretty simple. The 2.8" display need no soldering, it fits as a shield on the Arduno than I just powered the GPS module using 3.3V and connected the tx pin to the 0(rx) pin of the Arduino Leonardo, very easy. The benefit of Arduino Leonardo is it has two independent serial port: a debug serial port and a general purpose. The rest is software.
