When I saw my Christmas promotional gifts lying on the table, they were the same except for the company's advertising print and the size of the storage volume: the memory chip surrounded a typical cast-plastic case.
I wanted to take a closer look and opened with a screwdriver carefully the case and lo and behold: as expected came a PCB board with USB connector to light.
I decided to make something more individual: the memory should also be protected from falling as before and also be able to continue to be used by its functionality.
In front of me stood my open bottle of red wine and there I remembered the beautiful cork: some are even provided with a nice print.
So I'm equipped with a drill and a little tape to mark the drilling depth of the cork on the body and have created me accordingly wide with a 4-bit space for receiving the PCB board.
I have dispensed with extra hot glue for backup: the slot well and after I pushed the PCB board, this is difficult to pull out. In my opinion it is good and safe.
The cork itself still has room to drill a hole across, so that you could, for example, push through a chain or a ring for a keychain. A little extra memory would always be there.
In my eyes, the stick now stands out from the crowd and could be given away again as a little attention.
Without programming and soldering, this can be easily implemented with interested children.
