Connect Android Samsung Tablet with Ethernet

You may wonder why I have bothered you to post this. It's because I never dreamed I could just connect my Samsung tablet (version 4.1.2 Android) at least 3 years old to my Ethernet router. I just plugged it into the USB port on the router. A popup appeared on the tablet wanting the security code; I copied the WPA code from the router, and it connected! Now I am tethered to the router by the USB cable, but at least I can navigate the web on my tablet. That's all there was to it.
