This project is a simple creation of a "door knocker", or "door decoration" named: "The Musical Door Knocker" or "MDK" for short. Attached to the side of the front door, this device has 3 "channels" or "modes". These can be accessed by clicking the "A" and "B" labels.
The first channel is displayed by an all red display. This is "standard" mode. If there is a knock on the door, the MDK plays a little jingle like a doorbell and lights up to the music. When titled to the left (the front door opening), the MDK plays a jingle welcoming the guest into the home. When tilted to the right (the front door closing), the MDK plays a different jingle.
The second channel, displayed by all blue lights, is a security mode. In this mode, if there is a knock at the door, or any loud sounds near it. The MDK plays a small siren noise. If tilted to the left (the front door opening), the MDK will a siren loop and flash colors until turned off.
Channel three is similar to the first channel but with one change. The "doorbell" function is turned off. Displayed by all yellow lights, channel three only features the tilt left and right (open and closing the door) jingles.
Along with these channels, the MDK features an on and off "kill switch". The switch when switch to the right sets the MDK in "rest mode". Displayed by an all white light board, in rest mode, the MDK will react to no tilts or noises. To turn the MDK back on, just flip the switch to the left. Switching the MDK to rest mode also acts as a kill switch in case of any malfunctions, stopping all sounds, sirens, and animations.
