Computer display screen technology has recently switched from screens being generally CCFL-backlit, to now being LED-backlit.. A lot of people can't tolerate these screens with their eyes because of the particular spectral qualities of the light that LEDs emit, as explained in this article by Professor Arnold Wilkins. I am one of those people.
The display screen technology industry are working hard to sort this problem out, but while they do that, I am having a go at building my own CCFL-backlit screen from parts. The screen that I have bought is more or less identical to the one on my current laptop, which works just fine for me, so I'm hoping that this one will be good too.
Here are the parts:
- I bought the screen controller on ebay from e-qstore.
- The plan comes from this Instructable.
- The screen type is called B133EW01 V.3.
- I still need to find a 12V power supply and find out how to handle the "high voltage" part and then I am good to go.
