The goal of this project was to create a handheld lamp using very few materials at hand. The fundamental parts of the Beer-light are the Adafruit Circuit playground express, and a switch mechanism that allows the coded function of the lamp to work. The process had to be small in scope, I had a very limited amount of items to work with, thankfully it was a friend of mine's 21st birthday so Seltzer cans were in abundance. I decided that these would act as a base, and tape and faith would carry the rest of the project.
The construction process was simple, yet challenging. The orignial aim was to place the Playground at the very top of the can, however the pins made this an unfortunate impossibility. The code was done a day in advance, and used on functions that played a midi tune as it switched. A fun gimmick of the device is that the switch must be activated twice within a 2 second interval. Afterwards, 2 cans were cut, and tape was used to hold the battery and pins in place. The most difficult part of the project was a technical one- keeping the pins in place on the switch for the device to be used. This was circumvented by using tape to keep the pins bundled and prevents uncoupling.
The only external code referenced was the one provided by my Professor, to which was edited extensively.
