The deciduous forest regions have four seasons. The temperature varies from cold winters to hot and dry summers. Climate change will likely alter the frequency and intensity of forest disturbances, including wildfires, storms, insect outbreaks, and the occurrence of invasive species. The productivity and distribution of forests could be affected by changes in temperature, precipitation and the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. Forest improves the environment in many ways such as: Relative humidity of air is increased, increase fertility of surface soil. These add large quantities of organic matter in soil by which water and nutrient holding capacity of soil is increased. Researchers have known for decades that tree leaves absorb more sunlight than do other types of land cover, such as fields or bare ground. Forests can reduce Earth's surface albedo, meaning that the planet reflects less incoming sunlight back into space, leading to warming. There are many advantages with forest trees and plants, they give rain, food and good environment so it is our motto to save the forests. For this we need to monitor their conditions with the latest IoT devices if any changes occurring in forest that should be identified early to avoid much damage to environment.
I would like to design a smart forest environment monitoring with the QuickFeather hardware and the AI training is given to the device to detect the abnormal environment various with the accelerometer, pressure, temperature, Microphone sensors. SensiML AI Software tool kit is used to perform the AI to identify the major or minor change in different climate seasons. The device is unique in it features and small firm factor ease to deploy the analytics with the SensiML AI Software. the hardware is consisting of on-board sensors which are enough to design the project device and this kind of devices with MCU and FPGA do the processing in a quick manner. Present the existing devices are not coming readily with suitable software for AI we need them to configure to communicate with them it was the tough job for the designer like me. The current hardware in this contest very much reliable to complete the project in-time with no worries.
The monitoring of forest environment is necessary for the forecaster to caution about the risk. The hardware and software kit are suitable to design the proposed project. Pressure sensor and temperature sensor are used to monitor the forest conditions this two are important parameter to understand the physical conditions of the forest. Accelerometer is used to monitor the wind movement the device is placed on the top of the tree. When it is placed on the top the trees makes movement due to wind flow that senses who much intense it is. Digital microphone sensors used to identify the animal and birds approaching so that any sound is made to spread the approaching animals for safety. SensiML toolkit the data is captured for AI processing and to detect the behavior of forest.
