I want to travel by train; for example to Schiphol Airport or to Amsterdam. But when does my train depart? From what platform?

Obviously I want to ask the Amazon Alexa to help me plan my train journey!
It isn't that hard to create a custom skill for Alexa. Amazon Web Services really helps by offering Lambda - just the place to host your custom skill.
Then I found the railways information is publicly available over a REST API (alas; XML instead of JSON).
Being an AWS trainer working regularly in the United Kingdom, I asked one of the British students to help me design a natural voice interface. Now - as we speak, my daughter is talking to Alexa to plan her train journey for tomorrow morning :)
