When deciding upon a problem that I wanted to solve, I thought about a local problem around the UCF campus. Being a student that uses the buses around campus and relies on them to get to class on time, it can be extremely frustrating when they are not properly on route. This has led to being late, almost missing important meetings, and increased stress when getting ready to leave. You never know when the bus will arrive or leave.
That is why I created the Bus Alarm. A small simple device that alerts the driver every 15 minutes that it is time to leave. When the timer runs out bright lights flash and noises sound off, and won't be turned off until the switch is turned and resets the timer, creating a loop so the buss driver always leaves on time. I started with creating a timer system that is displayed on the neo pixels of the CPX. As time runs out, the neo pixels will turn off and once they have all turned off, the alarm will sound.
