Project B.L.U.A.S. is a weather balloon launched unmanned aircraft system, utilizing autopilot for landing at a predetermined zone. Large payload bay for housing atmospheric research equipment and fuselage engineered for payload security. Programmable altitude release and nose mounted camera allow for aerial reconnaissance. The wing is engineered to have a glide ratio of 10:1 and a propulsion system provides additional flight time, when needed. Flow simulation and finite element analysis were used to verify design and structural strength.
