One of the firsts problems when you start with this kind of devices is that you need to know which is the IP of your board, in this case the Udoo Neo so that you can connect to it as a computer.
Udoo Neo is a bit different to all the other boards, it is very versatile and can be connected in different ways. In this case to be different is good.
One easy way to do this is to connect this board as a headless device, in this option you can put the password for the WiFi. Once we have done this we can search with the smartphone the devices connected to our WiFi spot. If we use LAN scan, we can see our MAC. Now we can switch on our Neo as a computer, and find our IP easily.
Now lets do it step by step. We connect the Udoo Neo Board as a headless device. You will need to follow this instructions http://www.udoo.org/docs-neo/Basic_Setup/Usb_Direct_Connection.html You can observe that WiFi is not available at this moment.
We select on our left hand side the configuration button.
We follow the instructions to set the configuration of our wireless connection.
Introduce the password for the WiFi.
Now we can see our actual IP.
Now we can scan our net with our smartphone with the LAN scan app. Once we have done this, we can see all devices connected to the same WiFi. We now write down our mac address, next time we connect our Udoo Neo to our WiFi spot, we can scan with our smartphone, we'll see our IP, and then we can connect to our Udoo Neo Computer by ssh or VNC.
Hope you liked it.
