Starting at $42 per month billed annually, Arduino Cloud for Business aims firmly at the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

The Arduino Pro line of hardware devices now has a suitably-pro back-end in the cloud, with the launch of the self-explanatory Arduino Cloud for Business β€” which, as the name implies, takes the Arduino Cloud platform and makes it better-suited to industrial and enterprise projects.

"After growing our Arduino Pro hardware portfolio with over a dozen new components in the past few months, we are happy to announce a major software advancement in our ecosystem," the Arduino team says of its latest software launch. "The Arduino Cloud for Business offers unique benefits for companies and industrial clients wanting enhanced features in terms of device management, RBAC, fleet management, and safe remote access."

At its heart, Arduino Cloud for Business offers the same functionality as the existing Arduino Cloud platform β€” but with management and scalability turned up to 11. Among the new features include support for "Organization Spaces," with role-based access control (RBAC) for any number of users, and full access to all cloud projects and storage. On the hardware side, the new platform includes full device management with over-the-air (OTA) updates, secure provisioning supported by in-hardware secure elements where available, and status monitoring.

Other features of the platform include full fleet management with filtering, grouping, and tagging β€” and support for an unlimited number of dashboards and one year of data retention with full export support. Application programming interfaces (APIs) are provided in Python, Go, and JavaScript, with support for up to 50 requests per second β€” and Arduino has also announced dedicated add-ons for managing its Portenta X8 devices, LoRaWAN connectivity, and larger, more complex machine learning projects.

Arduino Cloud for Business is, naturally, a paid-for product, and unlike the standard Arduino Cloud there's no free tier: instead, usage is billed in blocks of 50 devices starting at $42 per month billed annually, while the Portenta X8 Manager add-on is $250 per month and the Machine Learning Tools Enterprise add-on $500 a month with a limit of 60 minutes of run-time per job and 1,000 minutes total per month β€” up from 20 minutes per job and 240 minutes per month without the add-on. Pricing for the LoRaWAN add-on was not available at the time of writing.

More information on Arduino Cloud for Business is available on the Arduino website.
