If you want to know what is happening in the world of technology, you will want to keep your eyes on what NVIDIA is up to. From generative AI to gaming and robotics, they seem to have a hand in the transformation of many fields in recent years. And at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, they have made a number of notable announcements that signal where they are headed in the future.

First and foremost, NVIDIA announced the release of a new series of GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPUs, including the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER. These new GPUs are targeted at next-generation gaming and generative AI applications, with the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER having been demonstrated to be capable of powering fully ray-traced games at a 4K resolution. With the capacity to perform 836 tera operations per second, in conjunction with the performance boost given by DLSS Frame Generation, NVIDIA claims that this new GPU is twice as fast as an RTX 3080 Ti GPU.

Whether you manage to snag one of these new GPUs, or have another RTX GPU in your workstation, then you might also be interested in the new Chat with RTX playground that was unveiled. This tool allows users to leverage their own locally stored data — from documents to YouTube videos — to augment an RTX-accelerated Large Language Model (LLM). The result is a personalized LLM that runs locally, which means you get fast and secure results.

For gamers and virtual reality enthusiasts, the NVIDIA ACE technology platform was announced. ACE utilizes generative AI to create realistic digital avatars via a model that can run in the cloud, or even locally on a PC. Also of interest, it was revealed that an open beta of RTX Remix will open up later this month. RTX Remix tools help modders to create visually stunning remasters of classic games, breathing new life into them.

For anyone that does not want to be tied down to a workstation for gaming or content creation, a new line of AI-ready RTX laptops is on the way. More details are to come in the near future, but NVIDIA promised that these laptops will soon be released by every major manufacturer.
