Bantam Tools’ Desktop CNC Milling Machine Now Available to Order
With ¼” tooling and a 28,000 RPM spindle, the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machine makes churning out aluminum parts fast and easy.
It wasn’t that long ago when Bantam Tools was at the forefront of the desktop milling game when they released their PCB Milling Machine, which made it possible to produce circuit boards in no time at all. Now the company is back with a new entry in their lineup that promises to do the same thing, only this time it’s capable of churning out aluminum parts on a professional level with speed and accuracy.
Bantam Tools describes their new Desktop CNC Milling Machine as a “high-performance three-axis desktop CNC milling machine, which was designed with product designers, educators, and hobbyists in mind. It’s ideal for those looking to bring prototyping in-house or master the fundamentals of CNC machining.” The machine is optimized for aluminum and offers ¼-inch tooling, allowing it to clear away more material, and features automatic stock location with material probing routines, making it faster as well.
The CNC mill sports a solid aluminum frame with 20mm shafts, has a working volume of 7 x 9 x 3.5 inches, and a max spindle speed of 28,000 RPMs. It also offers a max traverse of 250 in/min, a lead screw accuracy of <0.0054 / 9 inches, repeatability of +/- .001 inches, and weighs 70 pounds.
Bantam has supplied a new set of software tools to accompany the machine, including 2.5D Auto Cam that enables users to drop design files into Fusion 360 to convert them into tool paths. The company is currently offering the Desktop CNC Machine for $3,599 and ships within five to six weeks.
