Convert a Wine Barrel Into a Legend of Zelda Arcade Machine

Traditional stand-up arcade cabinets scream retro-gaming like nothing else, but cocktail cabinet games, which allow players to sit facing each other were also great fun. Taking this concept to the next level, hacker Trevor MacKenzie decided to make a Zelda-themed sit-down machine out of a wine barrel.

Yes, that’s correct, MacKenzie found an actual barrel on Craigslist, then stained it, and buried a Raspberry Pi 3 inside running RetroPie. He also added two sets of joystick/buttons as well as dual LCD screens for two-player gaming.

The controls and top part of the barrel are covered in Zelda graphics, which fits nicely with the vintage barrel theme. You can see more pics of the build on Imgur here.
