Edge Impulse Imagine Innovators: The Edge AI Developer Conference

Edge Impulse recently announced their first-ever conference devoted entirely to edge AI practitioners, taking place on May 6th, 2025. If you’ve been to Imagine in-person or watched online in the past, you know that Edge Impulse covers a wide range of topics at that event, from thought leadership and fireside chats, to business updates and more, but this time around they're focused solely on the developers and engineers that build edge AI solutions.

The agenda is already posted, and there are three independent tracks running concurrently: a "Beginner" track, an "ML Practitioners" track, and a track called "Running on the Edge" — along with an additional track devoted to panels made of up of industry experts.

Let's take a quick look at the agenda that is planned:

In the Beginner track, there are sessions on how to get started with Edge Impulse, which serves as an introductory session, as well as a talk devoted to dataset curation and best practices for data collection, followed up by an "Introduction to MLOps," which will provide the fundamental information needed for developers to begin building edge AI solutions.

Looking at the ML Practitioners track, those sessions are geared towards data scientists and machine learning engineers, with more technical content and subject matter such as "Fine-tune custom model architecture with your own data," a deep dive on DSP for feature extraction, a talk on the use of synthetic data and AI labeling, and finally, "FOMO-AD: Visual anomaly detection model for industrial use cases."

Finally, in the Running on the Edge track, there are sessions devoted to the complexities and challenges of running AI models on edge devices. These talks will help developers learn about potential pitfalls and how to avoid them when deploying models, take a look at Android wearables as an edge AI deployment option, explore generative AI on the edge, and understand power consumption and hardware selection.
