Makera's Carvera Is a Fully Automatic Desktop CNC Machine Designed for Makers
The Carvera comes equipped with ATC, auto probe, vacuum system, auto tool changing, and more.
Makera's Carvera automatic desktop CNC machine is designed for makers, engineers, and designers looking for an easy-to-use machine equipped with loads of innovative features. The unit comes with auto tool changing, auto probing and auto-leveling, making the machine truly hands-off. Depending on the application, the CNC machine will select the correct tool head and auto-level the base platform without the need for manual changes and inputs.
"Implementing these advanced capabilities was not easy, especially to let them fit on your desktop; they need to be compact, stable, and cost-effective," states Makera. "We have spent countless hours, worked through tens of iterations, finally developed our powerful ATC spindle and wireless probe from scratch."
The Carvera takes advantage of aluminum rails and ball screws for precision movement and stability, and Makera offers an optional 4th axis module, allowing users to machine 3D shapes, cylindrical items and double-sided objects. The CNC machine also has built-in dust collection capabilities, which is beneficial when working with carbon fiber and glass fiber. It also packs an integrated 2.5 W diode laser module for engraving, labeling PCBs and more.
The tool changer is pretty tight on it's own. Great idea to add to a system this size.
The Carvera features a metal alloy enclosure with a stainless-steel shell with ABS+Polycarbonate that gives the machine a modern look while remaining sturdy and durable. It also offers a closed-loop spindle and servomotors, ensuring the automated tool changes and prone function correctly. The CNC machine also comes fully assembled and tested, so it's ready to go outside the box. Makera is currently crowdfunding the Carvera CNC machine on on Kickstarter with pledges starting at $3,250, which includes a four axis module or PCB fabrication package.
